My friends and family know what a soppy romantic I am. I cry at movies and talk through them a lot (which annoys them). Back when I was 18 years old I worked in a TV production company and I always dreamed of one day making a movie of my own. Well, as a consummate creative, I always have some creative project up my sleeve.
Over the summer I made it my mission to become a “method writer“. You know, like method actors, who throw themselves into experiencing what it would be like to be the character.
My methods included trying fencing for the first time with my 14 year old daughter, kickboxing and taking an elite level figure skating class from Olympic medalist, Paul Wylie.
Talk about bootcamp style training: edges on ice, strength training off ice, then another 2 hours on ice jumping and spinning. My legs felt it for days!
All these crazy ideas are to get me ready to write a series of clean romance novels about believable characters who overcome the odds. Coming back to my creative writing roots has been a fun adventure as I let my imagination ride wild!
What I have learned though, is that it’s much harder to write fiction versus non-fiction. But I’m have a blast immersing myself in the process. Watch this space as you’ll be hearing more about my crazy antics as we infuse mindset, faith and romance in an entertaining collection of books coming soon!
