How to be an Empowered Entrepreneurial Parent with Mercedes Samudio

As women, we try to do it all on our own, both in our personal lives and in our businesses.

If you are a business owner, it is important to surround yourself with a tribe of like-minded women.  This will allow you to see that everyone has strengths and weaknesses and that no matter where you are in your business, we all experience the same struggles.

During our interview on Worthy TV my guest, Mercedes Samudio, reminds us that we need to put self care first.  We can’t give our family and our business the best of ourselves if we are not taking care of ourselves.

Mercedes’s advice is to delegate where we can, and schedule family time in order to reconnect and find out what our family needs from us.  We need to let go of the mindset that everything has to be done perfectly and embrace the mantra that “done is better than perfect.”

Action Steps:

  1. Block out (write it on the calendar) 15 minutes everyday to give to yourself.  Whether it be meditation, listening to music or whatever allows you to just focus on you, take this time everyday.
  2. Start saying no.  If you are not in a position to hire an assistant, say no to potential job opportunities that are going to take away your focus on what is most important.  Do the same with your family and personal life.  It’s okay to not do everything.
  3. Prioritize what is most important to you. Realize that not everything needs to be done now.  Self care should be in the top 3 of your priorities. Delegate anything that you can.

Big Takeaway

Put yourself in the top 3 of your to-do list. Mercedes Samudio on #WorthyTV Click To Tweet
